Chemicals of security concern
I went to the Safety Show in Sydney this week and was impressed with the government incentive to provide an understanding of the chemicals that can be used for homemade explosives.
The incentive is part of the “If you suspect it, report it” security campaign to inform businesses who deal with chemicals on a day-to-day basis.
We are such a lucky country but I think it’s important to be aware of what we need to know and what’s going on around us.There are currently eleven chemicals commonly used in Australia that are considered to be high risk. These chemicals are also the subject of a new National Code of Practice for Chemicals of Security Concern.
Here’s a list of the chemicals of concern and how they are commonly used: http://www.chemicalsecurity.gov.au/Pages/Commonuses.aspx
