For Your Knowledge
When a WorkCover inspector visits a workplace where a health & safety issue has been bought to their attention , they will evaluate the situation and choose what action, if any, to take.

The inspector may, depending on the circumstances, take one of several actions.

  • Issue an Improvement Notice directing a person or organisation to undertake correct action.
  • Issue a Prohibition Notice directing the immediate cessation of any activity that would endanger the health or safety of workers or visitors to the workplace.
  • Issue a workers compensation notice directing a person or organisation to undertake corrective action in relation to a workers compensation or injury management matter.
  • Initiate an investigations that may lead to a prosecution.

An inspector may choose one or more of these option based on the circumstance and they take into account the nature of the problem and how serious it is.

Essentially, the commitment of the workplace to implement systems that ensue effective and continuous improvement is the order of the day.

Here at Safety Services we have a specialist who has experience in handling WorkCover notices for any sort of issues relating to your work site.

Not only that, but we have a specialist available that deals with machine guarding, ergonomics, hygiene and all aspects of workplace health safety & environment.
